Lucky Luke - R&D - Test

Lucky Luke R&D Test is a personal project I undertook entirely on my own, pushing myself beyond animation to explore every stage of the production pipeline. My goal was to become better at directing the full process, from idea development, modeling, and rigging to animation, environment creation, lighting, and shaders in Unreal Engine.

As a solo animator working on a tight deadline with no budget, I knew I couldn’t match the quality of a full team of specialists. However, this project was never about perfection—it was about growth, problem-solving, and pushing my creative and technical limits. Despite the challenges, I’m proud of what I was able to accomplish, and I believe the results speak for themselves.

I used a range of tools, including Zbrush, Substance Painter, Maya, and Unreal Engine, to create a 3D representation of Lucky Luke that stays true to the original concept while allowing me to experiment with lighting, shading, and environmental storytelling. This project gave me a deeper understanding of the entire pipeline, reinforcing how each stage contributes to the final product.

As I continue to refine my skills in animation direction, technical execution, and creative decision-making, projects like this allow me to develop a stronger vision for storytelling while maintaining hands-on experience across multiple disciplines.

If you’re looking for someone who can understand the full production process, lead animation direction, and bring strong storytelling instincts to a project, let’s connect. I’m always up for new challenges and excited to collaborate on meaningful projects that push the limits of animation.
