Why KZanim? (A Director’s Passion for Quality, Freedom, and Craftsmanship)
After years of working as an animator on films, games, and cinematics, I realized that the best work happens when there’s creative freedom, clarity, and a real connection to the story. I’ve always loved animation—not just as a craft but as a way to bring characters and worlds to life.
Over time, I found myself with more to offer than just animation. I had the skills to contribute in earlier stages of production, from storyboarding and previsualization to shaping performances and directing animation. Yet, I often saw projects where decision-makers seemed to overthink direction and execution, making the process more complicated than it needed to be. While people debated the next steps, I was already solving problems, setting up shots, and making things work.
That’s why I chose to work independently under KZanim—to focus on directing and animating with purpose, collaborating on projects that truly excite me, and working with teams that value efficiency, clarity, and strong storytelling.
Why I Work This Way
I enjoy being part of a team, and whenever possible, I love meeting and working with people face-to-face. But working remotely allows me to focus on the work itself—to be adaptable, take on projects that align with my skills, and bring the best possible animation and direction to each collaboration.
This approach means I can:
✔ Contribute Beyond Animation – Offering expertise in storytelling, previsualization, and direction, shaping projects from an earlier stage.
✔ Focus on Story & Performance – Ensuring animation serves the narrative with clarity and impact.
✔ Work with Teams Worldwide – Collaborating with studios and productions without location being a barrier.
✔ Stay Agile & Adaptable – Adjusting to different creative and technical needs without unnecessary overhead.
✔ Take on the Right Projects – Choosing work that aligns with my expertise in animation direction and storytelling.
Building on Experience
I’ve worked on high-profile productions and independent projects, contributing to character animation, previs, and cinematic storytelling. Along the way, I’ve had the chance to support and guide other animators, refining both my own craft and the work of those around me. Each experience has shaped how I work today—adapting to different pipelines, collaborating closely with teams, and always striving to make the best use of animation to tell a story.
A Personal Approach to Every Project
For me, animation is about more than just delivering shots—it’s about understanding the vision of a project and making sure every frame contributes to it. I don’t approach my work as just another task; I want to be involved in making something meaningful, whether that’s through directing, animating, or helping shape performances that feel real and engaging.
