We live in a world where the creation of media of varying degrees of quality and enjoyment is more accessible than ever before.
Unfortunately, there is indisputable material oversaturation, and capturing the audience’s attention is becoming increasingly difficult. The best examples to demonstrate that are music videos that stand out in the music industry by pushing the limits and expanding their lyrics and audio worlds to imaginary visual worlds that make everyone pay attention.
Music videos are used to promote the sale of an artist’s work from a marketing standpoint. It invites the audience to listen and draws in their attention, encouraging them to buy it by presenting a narrative. Creating a memorable visual experience improves the chances of a song selling and we all know that animation is more engaging than any other form of content, especially when combined with high-quality sound.
We’ve compiled a selection of some of our favorite music videos that we feel have succeeded in doing so and, as a result, have become as well-known as the songs they accompany.
- Moby – My Only Love
- Gorillaz – Feel Good Inc.
- Caravan Palace – Lone Digger
- London Grammar – Hey Now
- Metallica: Murder One
- Sturgill Simpson – Sing Along
- Gorillaz – Aries ft. Peter Hook & Georgia
- Queens Of The Stone Age – Go With The Flow
- Red Hot Chili Peppers – Californication
- K/DA – POP/STARS (ft. Madison Beer, (G)I-DLE, Jaira Burns)
(Riot games and K/DA have releashed many cool videos)
We also think that a series of animated music videos by Steven Wilson deserves an honorable mention in this article.
